My client is a leading South African bank and credit provider - a strong brand, award winning, driven by innovative technology and the need to service their customers the best.

They have an exciting opportunity for a Channel Marketing Manager to join the team with the following mandate:

  • To improve client acquisition, optimisation and retention by ensuring that the Channel Marketing department is best utilising all available channels for various regional campaigns;
  • Ensuring that the brand is represented and communicated effectively within these channels - across Operations, Branches, Card Services, Point of Sale, Employer Sales and Brand Activations,

The ideal candidate:

  • is currently in a Junior Management role
  • with 5 years’ experience in marketing and communications within the RETAIL or FMCG environment 
  • is very comfortable with “Channel Marketing” - getting the product through various distribution channels into the market
  • has excellent people management skills as they will manage 2 Marketing Co-ordinators and 1 Logistics Co-ordinator
  • has a strong presence, is resilient and able to stand their ground

Candidate requirements:

  • Strictly an AA appointment
  • A relevant 3-year degree in Marketing Management (BComm Marketing Management or similar)
  • A post-graduate degree in Marketing Management would be preferred
  • At least 5 years’ experience in marketing and communications within the retail, FMCG, banking or services industry, of which;.
    • 3 years’ experience in managing a team of marketing specialists / marketing function
  • Essential to the role is knowledge of
    • Service industry or Consumer products/ industry
    • Understanding of the philosophy of branding and its practical application in a corporate context
    • Categories and features of the different types of media and their application in a corporate context
    • Trade and/or sales environment
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English
  • Computer literate (Intermediate MS Office)
